Objective:

To develop technical and productive skills in young people, especially Awajun and Wampis women, to promote food security, participatory environmental monitoring with an emphasis on water, and the creation of community-based Indigenous enterprises for local businesses and ethnotourism.

Beneficiaries:

Awajun and Wampis youth, primarily women, and children in the Amazonas Region of Peru.

Strategies:

Technical and productive training for young people:

  • Agriculture, livestock, forestry, and fishing.
  • Conflict management related to mining.
  • Artistic, tourism, and cultural activities.

Agricultural diversification, fish farms, and organic gardens to improve food security for malnourished children.

Environmental monitoring, with an emphasis on water, to directly control water resources and protect biodiversity from the impacts of mining and hydrocarbon activities.

Creation of community-owned enterprises to provide specialized services to large companies and to promote ethnotourism in the region.
